I KNOW

Strolled to an urban centre for some regional culture and regional gins.

*****

“21st century humanity feels adrift in a sea of lies, deception and falsity.”

Blimey.

Seems Scrabble is the answer.

I always knew it.

The excellent #nickwarbuton @norwichartscentr.
*****

There was also mustard seeds in a frame…

I know!

And a celebrity breath auction.

I know!

*****

The regional gins were lovely.

QUANTUM

Quantum Physics says I can be in two places at the same time.
Kennel’s in Norfolk/gallery in the Alps.
Google it.

****

So we went to this gallery.
In the Alps.
Here is some of the art:

What’s all that about?
Human condition innit.

Endlessly changing.

The stones are sort of a zen garden and sort of about erosion.
Clever.

So the man gave us a rock and told us to engrave love or something on it.
We used a biro.
And anyway eroding love seemed a bit sad so we chose something that was kind of sad in the passing but also optimistic as changing into something new.

We then had to put the stone in a stream and the artist is going to make a map on social media or something.

Lovely.

BLITHERING

“You’re going to love this.”
“I love this.”

Except she didn’t really love it.
She virtually loved it.
Or really loved the virtual.

*****

What’s this staffy blithering on about?
Art, innit.
#Dreamkubrick @somersethouse.
There was a virtual reality bit to answer your question.
I think it was from ‘2001-A Space Odyssey’ but I could find a guidebook.

*****

Still it was very, very good…
Look at this!

And this!

Profound too, innit.

DISTURBS

Baby sometimes disturbs my afternoon dognaps (he’s a lot more demanding than me) so I sashayed over to @tate modern for #monahatoum.

“I want the work in the first instance to have a strong formal presence and through the physical experience to activate a psychological and emotional response.”

Don’t we all, love.

There was a cheese grater turned into a bed which I thought was a clever idea.

Reminded me a lot of the old nail iron of Man Ray.

“A world characterised by conflicts and contradictions.”

You’re telling me.

But Staffies are lovers not fighters.

5 Colin Stars.

I really liked it.

CEASELESSLY

I looked into the bottomless pit.
I looked through Facebook.
A sense of self is fabricated via a supply chain of objects, ideas and experiences.
It’s just us… our perseverating embrace… I think I prefer it that way.
Ceaselessly circulating.
Ceaselessly stimulating.
David’s proposal was to make a work on how America broke his heart.
I didn’t do anything because I was scared.
There was, like, crying.
Yes, I feel you baby.
I wish it was different.
Hiroshima.
I had to take my shoes off.

(Some words).

Cheers,

SITTING DOWN

I was caught in a synaptic circus this Sunday afternoon.

*****

Rose English @camdenartsctr.

*****

It was also dark and I didn’t realise there were seats for a while and when I did I was pleased because my absolute favourite thing is sitting down.

*****

Some words: darkness, synaptic circus, chairs, glass, sopranos, filigree, it’s a balancing act, blowing, shattering, flying.

*****

Not sure I understood it but I liked it.

5 Colin Stars.

You should go.

Except you can’t coz it finishes today.

Oh well, eh?

Life.

UNDEAD

There was a lot going on #champagnelife @saatchi_gallery.

*****

Some words: Goats, Minnie Mouse, Sweden, the elderly, cows, body builders, terrorists, pots and pans, dead horses, undead people and a cockatoo.

*****

I mean, that’s essentially it but you should still go because it’s very good.

*****

Especially the huge pictures of the old ladies.

*****

‘An emptying of images of all meaning.’

Or a ‘powerful statement about our contemporary image culture.’

Nicked that from the guide book.

DEAD BIRDS

“We don’t know what’s really out there.”

“Just more lonely stars I guess.”

*****

A lot going on AND you have to keep a sticker on display @_thewhitechapel #electronicsuperhighway.

Some words: dead birds, karaoke, rude things, Facebook, searching for Colin Heinink, Kurt Schwitters, an eye, many many televisions and PacMan.

That covers it.

SIX

We want one of these mobiles for a nursery for baby.

They are enchanting.

Alexander #Calder @tate modern.

*****

I really just love the simple colours, shapes and sounds moving at random and it is as simple as that.

“My fan mail is enormous.” Said Alexander. “Everyone is under six.”

STARSISH

I like the tube strike.

Leave early.

Pay a cheque in or something.

Go to an ‘off west end’ gallery or something.

Perhaps that’s not the point.

*****

First lets do the exhibition @_thewhitechapel that wasn’t so good…

Corin Sworn (good name)

Some words: big fat brown rod, decanters, mice, robes, fairy lights… You get the picture.

Sort of 3 Colin Starsish.

Now the really good one:

Rivane Neuenschwander.

Some words: Ebola, fear, clowns, guns, knives, thunder, God, fear, children’s clothes.

Sounds good, right?

5 Colin Stars.

Cheers,

Martin xx
