SO

Sometimes a blog or a day starts out as one thing but turns into another.

So naturally there was a meetup. Knitting. Noone home.

So clearly then there was a cafe and some irritatedness.

So then there was a museum (Cuming… Not, disappointingly about the scottish sometime gay star of 90s BBC xmas flick and Heinink staple 'Bernard and the Genie.')

Worth a look. Old shit. Dickens. Hes everywhere. Like Trinidad and Korea. Free.

But dont go to south london on purpose.

So then there was a gallery. Peter Blake at the Fine Art Society. Good to have a curator for art or life. He knows his onions. Nice to have fine art and modern art together. Great. Free.

He's a bit everywhere too. He's 80 or something.

Yes, there were boobs.

So then an evening activity. Or the first one.

We wanted to go on about 'Laughter Yoga' again.

About the importance of play and how the Southbank looks like a grownups playground with wheels, fairs, arts, bright colours and…talking wooden boxes.

But then we saw a film. 'The Imposter.'

Which twisted and turned all over the place.

Like a day. Like a relationship.

It was short too. We like short.

Love,

Harleyxx

Theres someone sodcasting #onthistrain. Sub human scum.

You can relive those dizzy highs here…

 http://www.thedogwhatblogs.com/?p=518

First time we are self referencial.

The dog what blogs gold.

We’re joining the splodges.

We quite enjoyed it this time @tate.

Mainly cos it was quiet.

*****

Revisit migrations: some words: im trying to remember if their were boobs…

Revisit another london: some words: im trying to remember if there was cock…

Next…

*****

Here is the new best film ever.

Searching for Sugerman.

We like films about music, photos about music or tv about art.

Joining the splodges,

This was a fairy story that had it all.

And it was only 82 minutes.

Tick,

Download,

Love,

Harleyxx

she only talked thru the reflection of a mirror OR never mind the pollocks

Think of my blog as nothing less than a guide to life itself.

We have branded the hours 4-6 as 'The Culture Shift.'

Today we were very depressed as its the school holidays…

So we thought: “Pollocks…”

Let's go to a toy museum.

And its was the dogs…

Ram packed with old toy based fun well worth 6 pounds and around 45min of life.

Tea Museums. Take note.

*****

From the ikkle to the huge.

We promised u a biting review of @tate #modern tanks.

I was heard to remark: “A unique space that has a lasting impression.”

Seroiusly… It wasnt disappointing.

It was nice sitting in a cave watching an odd korean lady drawing snakes on another lady's neck. Its was a solid 6/10 feeling.

And then… Walking down Hornsey hotspot turnpike lane we got hit by a 'oo that was actually quite cool' 8/10 feeling.

Maybe pay for a show for 10/10 rather than cheapskate the free bits… A film in one little round room and a soundtrack about old ladies in a tiny round room.

You had to be there.

Love,

Harleyxx

I WISH LIFE WAS IN 3D

I would like…

If i may…

To give u a history lesson…

3D is an interesting thing. A tech thats come in fits and starts over the decades.

You can read about it here.

I think its post-2003 revival (oh yes) really works best in IMAX.

Now it is partly because his lordship is a speccy 6 eyes that he finds it a bit uncomfy.

And because he's a natural rebel… He took them off for quite a bit.

See spidey was cool anyway. It added something. But not much.

Its a good film.

Its all there.

Hot yoofs snogging and saving the world.

Be still my beating heart,

Love,

Harleyxx

N8ISGR8

We didnt have the emotional energy for this blog yday for a number of reasons.

We always protested… “Hornsey is the place to be.”

It, like many things, fell on deaf ears but me and the boywonder @albiestar are often right.

Homsey Town hall itself is interesting… One of the first modernist structures or something.

Its all v art deco.

Anyway its all v art too because it houses @artangel projects.

At the moment in its corridors and council chambers it houses neon signs, memorabilia, posters and 3 films by Yael Bartana. These films are about a Polish jew who begins by calling the diaspora who have left Poland to return and assert there jewishness alongside the polishness in a celebration of now.

I cant really do this amount of history, culture and religion justice.

Im a staffordshire bull terrier.

But if you’re in Hornsey at the weekend-and lets face it who isnt?-

Go.

*****

Sashayed along then to laughter yoga where we got chucked out The Royal Festival Hall…

But you’ve gotta laugh?…

Surely?

Love,

Harleyxx

BANK

Art again.

This time off to our personal little calm nirvana. Nothing shattered here.

Bank holiday blues busting @

Tate Britain.

As well as the cafe and shop we wanted to see….

Patrick Keiller thing.

It took a while for us to realise what its all about.

Its about his almost random meanderings around England, the films he took and artists responses to them.

Ok well we like #randommeanderings here @thedogwhatblogs.

The whole thing was very interest tickling anyway. The range of artists gave us plenty of things to wikipedia and blog (http://goetherocks.blogspot.com… Turning into a book dontcha know…)

And the diversity of it all made our eyes very happy.

Which is good.

And its free.

Which is good.

*****

The boy wonder @albiestar had an expresso. Cos he’s not wired enough…

Quality eavesdropping in the members room too.

Tate members are our favourite group of people for this.

Audioboo overload.

*****

When in Rome…

We toddled round the Picasso again. 15 minutes: we had it licked.

What struck us this time… (are u ready for art insight…) is the strength of the link between Henry Moore and Picasso.

We like blobs @thedogwhatblogs.

And u thought Staffordshire Bull Terriers were mean and unsophisticated…

Love,

Harleyxx

PS this jubilee lark eh? Im a cavalier whilst albiestar is a roundhead… But we both think it is “Literally the biggest load of hyperbole in the world… Ever!!” TM

LONGA

Quality evening. @thepcclondon. @singalonga #rockyhorror.

We’d have liked to have been drunk at the start and drunker at the intermission and drunkest at the end.

But it was still awesome sober.

Cos its a great film.

And things are better with people.

So sing a long a rocky horror… Its been a singa longa weekend for the two boys…

Anyway theres a warm up with routines, a goody bag of props and a fancy dress competition.

Then its… Er the film… With sing a long captions, calling out (much like any film @cineworld wood green…) and its dance a long too.

Which makes a 5 colin stars film a 6 colin stars film.

7 stars if drunker.

Love,

Harleyxx

THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY

Games are good. Me and the boy play in the london scrabble league. There are lots of nice people and it makes you think and it makes you learn and you get to go round nice peoples houses. Lovely.

*****

And if you want to carry on feeling cultured and educated you can watch pretentious french films on @cinemoitv when u get home.

Lovely.

VERSATILE

Another mini post as I can’t be arsed, am poorly and so have been dull…

[audience reaction: aaaahhh]

Good opportunity to mention @offthepage…

I’m a very versatile performer considering I have no thumbs and a permanent smile just when I’m hot…

So It’s nice reading different scripts ‘off the page’ …tv, film, theatre.

Another plug for @meetup as its on there.

They meet in soho and Ealing once a month to share writing with gentle constructive criticism in a friendly environment.

Also a nice place to meet other actors (unfortunately most are human) and writers.

*****

Oo also a great exhibition on in the venue from @ianandlozz with lips and imaginary friends.

Love,

Harleyxx

Firmer

Life affirming.

But in a different way to The Muppets.

A very different way. Watched some very challenging films about illness @tate modern.

Colin felt a bit queasy but I’m made of firmer stuff.

The director was there, Barbara Hammer and she did the q and a on us.

Bit cheeky and some people got v emotional in there response to films depicting chemotherapy, epileptic seizures and dancing with skeletons.

It was interesting, provocative and powerful but perhaps went a bit to far as artistic types can do.

I live with Colin, I know what I’m talking about here.

Before the films we went to the Sherlock Holmes museum and there was waxworks and stuff.

So if you’re in N8 and you see a staffy with a deerstalker and an increased awareness of issues surrounding mental health and mortality…

That’ll be me.

Love,

Harleyxx
